Ministries at Bethel

Music Ministry

Brother Orville Harris, Sister Queen Thomas

Bethel AME Church Music offers opportunities to sing, dance and to play musical instruments.  There are a variety of artistic outlets for you to get involved in, including the Chapel Choir and Gospel Choirs.   

Prison Ministry

The Prison Ministry ministers to the spiritual needs of the incarcerated.  They also provide spiritual support and uplift to those individuals once they are back home. The Prison Ministry is there to assist them in making the transition back into society and in their continued desire and efforts to stay close to God and His word.

Food Pantry

Sister Betty Frazier

The mission of the Food Pantry is to provide food to hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. The Food Pantry provides service to people regardless of race, creed, or national origin.

Helping Hand

Sister Lillian Linnen

Volunteers who provide Christian caregiving and support for members in the congregation who are in short-term crisis or in need at home.

Scholarship Committee

Sister Shirley Wright and Sister Marsinette Nelson

Arranges fundraisers and procedures for the selection of students of the church to receive scholarships for their college education.
Audio/Video/Tape Ministry

Provide all media and technology services to the church.  Volunteers are also responsible for providing and monitoring the sound system for all services, meetings or events at the church.

Transportation

Volunteers who drive the church vans to pick up those who need transportation to and from worship and special events and occasions.

Nursing Home Visitations

 An organization of volunteers who visit sick and shut-in members of the Bethel AME community.

Prayer Hotline

Sister Florence Collins

 A weekly phone line staffed by members of the Bethel community to set up to answer calls and to pray for and with individuals wanting support through the power of prayer.  Calls are answered every Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at 856-577-2383.

Health Commission

Sister Debra Chaffin

The Health Commission serves as a resource to provide access to health information sponsored by community health agencies and associations.  The Health Commission is also available to provide first aid as needed during church activities and to implement activities as directed by the Connectional Health Commission.

Bethel Fitness "On the Move"                      

Bethel's Fitness Ministry works to engage members in a healthy lifestyle by providing opportunities for members to come together to exercise as a group.  The program is open to everyone and no sign-up is necessary.
